The HBM Detox Smoothie

When we hear the word detox it can make some of us nervous, but it shouldn't! When detox is done right, it’s only another term to classify foods that are rich in must-have nutrients and whole foods. When we take artificial flavors and chemical substances out from our diet we’re helping our body to live healthier in a more natural lifestyle. This is what our body wants and it’s important that we listen.

Detox drinks like ours can help speed up your metabolism and aid weightloss, treat bad skin and help to overall flush our body of nasty toxins we don’t need.

The only way to get the vitamins and nutrients you need is through a healthy and balanced diet. Papaya provides more than the daily recommended value of vitamin C which strengthens our immune system and helps prevent the common cold (important when heading into colder seasons especially). Kale and spinach provide a healthy source of magnesium & calcium, while apple and banana and HBM’s matcha provide a rich supershot of antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup papaya
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1 scoop of HBM’s matcha

Blend until smooth and serve immediately.

Looks yummm!! How much Matcha was there in the smoothie? I sometimes have my two servings of matcha in smoothies rather than in the shaker and it works really well too! (obviously if you’re in a hurry or having it before working out the bottle makes more sense)
